Storybook Pumpkins

Posted Date: 10/12/26 (02:22 PM)

Your family is invited to help create a “Storybook Pumpkin Patch” in our library. This involves reading a favorite storybook, making plans, and then decorating a pumpkin to look like one of the book characters. A little imagination, some craft supplies, and a pumpkin or fall squash are all you need to join the fun. Your student’s pumpkin can represent a human character like Fancy Nancy, an animal like Clark the Shark, Dog Man or Fly Guy, a vehicle like Otis the Tractor, a machine like R2D2, or an imaginary creature like a mermaid or unicorn. Storybook pumpkins can be an individual project or a multi-sibling project and we look forward to seeing our Pandas imaginations shine!

*Please stick to these guidelines to keep us bug and leaky-rotten-pumpkin-juice-free!

*You must use a pumpkin (artificial or real) or a Fall Squash; NO Carving!!

*Do not use any food or candy for decorations. (Again… this is to avoid bugs.)

*Due to limited space, please choose a pumpkin that keeps your project smaller than a basketball.

DROP-OFF PUMPKINS

Please deliver your pumpkin and the book or photocopy of cover to the library Monday 10/26  All entries must be received by Monday October 26th to be included in voting.

PREVIEW

Pumpkins will be on display all week in the library for classes to vote for their favorite. Winners will be announced on Friday October 30th! All students will receive a participation prize. Please plan to take your pumpkin home that night! Any remaining pumpkins will be disposed of Friday after school. Please email me if you have any questions!

Happy Reading and Decorating,
