This Week in Paso Schools | Week of 3/9

Posted Date: 03/08/26 (06:26 PM)

This week in Paso Schools
Dear Paso Schools Families,

Last week was a full one, capped-off by the official opening of the brand new Paso Robles Aquatics Center!

It was a joy and an honor to celebrate the opening of the Paso Robles Aquatics Center alongside so many of the people who helped bring this long-awaited project to life. This facility represents years of planning, determination, and enduring commitment to providing outstanding facilities to our students.

We are especially grateful to the Paso Robles community and taxpayers who supported Measure M. Because of that support, generations of Bearcats will have access to a high-quality aquatics facility where they can learn, train, compete, make memories, and break records.

And it’s only fitting that today’s Bearcats got to celebrate the opening with a big splash! More photos and video from the ribbon cutting are coming, but we're delighted to start with student-photographer Chloe Van Pelt's capturing of the first laps in our beautiful new pool! (Photos below.)

Tomorrow is the 125th day of school, and students are encouraged to dress in their brightest neon colors! Friendly reminder that this week is conference week for elementary, and schools will be following a minimum day schedule. Continue reading for this week’s announcements and reminders.

CTE Student of the Week: Caylee Lamb

Caylee is a standout student in both our Patient Care and Ornamental Horticulture pathways. With incredible work ethic and genuine passion for learning, she thrives when challenged academically. As president of HOSA: Future Health Professionals, she leads with enthusiasm, creativity, and inclusivity. Last year, Caylee earned her national Patient Care Technician/Assistant Certification and is completing a senior internship at a local Long Term Care Hospital. As president of the floral club, she has been a consistent leader and mentor.

Known for her warm smile, genuine care, and kind heart, Caylee positively impacts everyone around her. Congratulations, Caylee!

Secondary Scholar of the Week: Xian Ferrer

Xian is an exceptional student! He is in all honors classes, including two AP classes. He also got a perfect score on the Math portion of the CAASPP in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. In addition to being gifted academically, he is also in the jazz band and working towards completing the software and systems development CTE pathway.

Congratulations, Xian!

Lewis Flamson and Georgia Brown Dance Show

All PRJUSD families are warmly invited to join us for the upcoming Lewis Flamson Junior High School and Georgia Brown Dual Immersion Dance Show, March 11 at 6:00 p.m. at the LFJH MPR.

This year, LFJH and GBDI have come together to present a collaborative performance highlighting the talent and dedication of our junior high dancers. Nearly 120 students are participating, with many of the pieces choreographed by the students themselves.

We are also proud to share that several PRHS Advanced Dance students partnered with our junior high performers, creating original choreography and serving as mentors.

Come support the arts in our schools and celebrate the creativity and dedication of our dancers!
